We are stoked to be going back to Castaway for another year of summer camp! For many people summer camp has been a transformational week where they have met Jesus in a personal way that has impacted their lives for years, decades, and even for eternity. Castaway is a marvelous camp with great accommodations, incredible food, and some amazing entertainment options. Castaway is a Young Life camp that usually is booked all summer with Young Life groups that come from all over the United States, but again this year Castaway had an opening the first week in June and they are excited for us to rent out their camp for the week to run our own camp program.
At this camp, we will have the amazing opportunity to partake in a variety of different activities including: rock climbing, zip line, giant swing, archery tag, gaga ball, outdoor and indoor basketball courts, frisbee golf, crystal clear water to swim in, kayak, hot tubs, and even hammocks to lay out in on the sandy beach. Not only are the activities amazing, but the amenities of this camp are even better! This will be an experience students will remember forever.
...but honestly, that’s not the biggest reason that we are excited about this opportunity. We are excited to be doing something that includes Lincoln Berean Youth Ministry as a whole, together. In a culture that constantly screams individualism, Lincoln Berean Youth values unity, we are better together. We believe that the next season of ministry will be marked by growing together as one ministry, serving one God, and helping other students know the one Savior. There is no better way to be together than take over an entire camp with all of our people.
Gathering together, escaping the distractions of day-to-day life, having a ridiculous amount of fun together, diving into God's word and worshipping Him with all our hearts as one unified body, will make this week truly “the best week of your summer”.
